Ruaile Buaile and Smash Hits To Perform At 2023 Blue Jean Country Queen Festival

After a 3 year hiatus, the Blue Jean Country Queen Festival will return to Athboy, Co. Meath this June Bank Holiday weekend. The festival committee is delighted to announce the bands which will be performing at the first festival since 2019 are Ruaile Buaile and Smash Hits.

Midlands based 5 piece trad-twist band Rualie Buaile will be performing that the 2023 Blue Jean Country Queen Festival on Saturday 3rd June at the Darnley Lodge Hotel. The group, formed in 2011, features Niall Kelly (Vocals and Guitar), Jack Godley (Percussion) and Shane Lynam (Vocals and Bass), Cathal Guinan (Fiddle) and Seán Bourke (banjo). The group has travelled all around the world performing upbeat old Irish favourites, ground-thumping trad, and unique twists on recent-day classics.

Meanwhile, on Sunday 4th June, Dublin based six-piece Smash Hits will perform their unique, entertaining tribute to the 90s – the golden era of dance, pop and R‘n’B. A throwback to a feel-good time of old-skool nightclub DJs, all-night raves Smash Hits have been packing out dancefloors all over Ireland and Europe since 2009. Not only have they performed sold-out gigs at Dublin venue’s The Button Factory and the Sugar Club – they’ve also shared bills with 50 Cent, MGMT, 5ive, S-Club, Faithless, Wheatus, Orbital, The Saturdays, The Coronas and NTrance.
