Le Chéile Credit Union Limited was created through the merger of Athboy and

Oldcastle Credit Unions in July 2024. Both credit unions have been looking after the

financial services needs of their members for over 50 years.

Like all credit unions, Le Chéile Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative.

owned and operated by its members. The member benefits by receiving a dividend

on their share account and lower rates on loans and services, plus you will

appreciate the friendly personalised service that still sets us apart from other

financial institutions.

This year we are pleased to announce that our Festival Loan is back. We are offering

a great loan rate of 6.95% (7.20% typical APR) on loans from €8,000 to €75,000.

applications from local bodies and established businesses looking for finance to help

grow their business.

We are dedicated to being a vital part of the Athboy and Oldcastle local communities

and have been the major sponsor of the Blue Jean Country Queen Festival

in Athboy since 2015. We are proud to continue our association with the festival

which brings so much fun to the town each year.

Le Chéile Credit Union will host the Family Fun Day again this year on Saturday 31 st

May 2025 between 2pm and 5pm with games, face painting and complimentary ice

cream or burger with each ticket. Free Admission – Strictly Ticket Only!

Our Quarterly Member Draw will take place at 4.30pm with

1st Prize €10,000, 2nd Prize €5,000, 3rd Prize €3,000, plus many more cash prizes.

All members are welcome to attend.

Today, with over €77 million in assets, we serve over 12,000 members from Athboy,

Oldcastle and the surrounding areas. Le Chéile Credit Union is governed by member

volunteers elected to the Board of Directors and managed by experienced financial

professionals.
